The same can't be said for new and existing customers who include the streaming service as a separate add-on, however.

Astro has responded to our query regarding Netflix’s recent price increase in Malaysia. According to the service provider, customers with Netflix bundled in their subscription packs will not see any changes in their monthly bill following the platform’s announcement. However, Astro confirmed that an increment for all applicable plans will take effect starting March next year.

To refresh, Astro bundles Netflix’s Standard tier with its Sports Plus Pack (RM129.99/month), Movies Plus Pack (RM129.99/month), Entertainment Plus Pack (RM129.99/month), Premium Pack 2 (RM149.99/month), Premium Pack 3 (RM154.99/month), and Platinum Pack (RM194.99/month). The service provider has yet to confirm the new prices for each pack and will very likely reveal them once the date of implementation nears.

While the changes will only affect the aforementioned packs in March 2025, the same can’t be said for customers who choose to include Netflix as separate add-ons. According to Astro, the new pricing will be immediately applicable for all new Netflix add-on subscriptions starting today on 14 November, while existing users will see the change reflected on their monthly bill starting on or after 21 November.

The Mobile plan now costs RM18.90 (up from RM17), the Basic plan at RM29.90 (previously RM28), the Standard plan at RM49.90 (previously RM45), and the Premium plan at RM62.90 (previously RM55).
