Insta360 has introduced the GO 3S, an updated version of its GO 3 action camera from last year. The newer model comes with several upgrades, significantly the ability to record videos at a higher resolution of 4K at 30fps.

According to Insta360, the new onboard chip on the GO 3S has 50% more computing power, and features a new wide-angle lens that enables videos with less distortion and straighter edges. In addition to 4K video recording, it can also take smoother slow-motion footage with a 1080p resolution at 200fps as well as 2.7K resolution at 100fps.

Vertical shooting is made easier by simply twisting the camera to the desired orientation. For hands-free shooting, you can set a recording frequency and length if you want the camera to automatically record your day, thanks to its new Interval Video mode.

There’s also a new hand gesture feature to start or to stop shooting, as well as to take photos, which is quite handy (no pun intended) in instances where the device is out of reach. As for run time, Insta360 says the GO 3S is capable of recording 1080p/30fps at up to 38 minutes on its own, and up to 140 minutes when attached to its Action Pod.

Another useful addition is compatibility with Apple’s Find My network, allowing you to easily locate the GO 3 if you were to misplace it. The camera also has native waterproofing for up to 33 feet, which is twice that of the GO 3. On the software side of things, the Insta360 app gets a new Auto Edit function that uses AI to combine several clips into one long video, with audio scoring included.

Like its predecessor, the Insta360 GO 3’s Action Pod serves as its all-in-one housing, remote control and charger, and you canl preview your shots via its flippable 2.2-inch touchscreen. Other than that, included together with the camera’s standard bundle a magnet pendant, an easy clip to attach it to a cap or even your pet’s collar, a pivot stand, and a lens guard.

The new Insta360 GO 3S, offered in White and Black colour options, is available now via the brand’s official online stores on Shopee and Lazada, as well as authorised dealers nationwide. The standard bundle starts at RM1,969 for the 64GB configuration and RM2,099 for the 128GB option. Meanwhile, the Get Set bundle, which comes with a tripod, is priced at RM2,069 and RM2,199 respectively.
