Unifi TV and Astro have recently responded to Lowyat.NET’s enquiry regarding the recent Disney+ Hotstar subscription changes. Both services noted that their respective offerings are indeed affected by the change, but will only provide further information at a later date.

“Starting 24 April 2024, there will be changes in the subscription plan rate for Disney+ Hotstar streaming app as announced by Disney+ Hotstar,” Unifit TV said in its statement. “Selected Unifi TV subscribers with Disney+ Hotstar subscription will also be affected by the new rate.”

It also noted that it is currently finalising all of the details and will announce more information via its official channels. In regards to the latter, the service said customers should expect to receive an update from them from 8 April 2024 onwards.

Meanwhile, an Astro spokesperson told us that the company is also finalising details and promises to provide an announcement to customers “soon”. However, unlike Unifi TV, it did not say when or where the update will be issued.

In case you missed it, Disney+ Hotstar recently announced an upcoming update to its subscription plans in Malaysia that’s set to happen on 24 April 2024. Rather than the RM54.90 three-month plan which it currently offers, the service will instead provide five different options to customers, available in two flavours: Basic and Premium.

The former is going for RM24.90 per month, or RM214.90 per year. The latter, on the other hand, is offered at RM39.90/month or RM289/year, while a quarterly option is also available at RM79.90 per three months.
