OnePlus has rolled out a major ColorOS 14.0 update for the OnePlus 11 and 12 series in China, bringing new AI-powered features to both smartphones. According to a patch note shared by usher milkyteapls on Reddit, these include AI Summariser, AIGC Remover, Article Summaries, and an upgrade to the Breeno Touch tool.
Al Summariser is a tool designed to create call summaries by extracting essential details such as times, locations, and action items from phone conversations. Another feature, AIGC Remover, has been introduced to assist in eliminating unwanted elements or individuals from photos, enhancing the overall cleanliness of images. Then there’s Article Summaries which extracts key information from write-ups with a single tap. Meanwhile, Breeno Touch has also received upgrades, enabling it to recognise onscreen content and offer swift access to relevant services.

If any of these sound somewhat familiar, that’s because they share some similarities with Samsung’s new Galaxy AI offerings. This is expected since generative AI features are looking to be the next big thing to hit mobile devices, and it’s only due time for other manufacturers to introduce their own takes in order to stay competitive.
Apart from the new AI tools, the latest firmware update for the OnePlus 11 and 12 series adds “Device motion & orientation” permission to Settings, the ability to unlock the phones with a fingerprint scanner without waking up the screen, as well as control QQ Music on Always-On Display, and display the screen recording indicator in the status bar or a floating window. Lastly, there’s also some tweaks done to improve Bluetooth, NFC and WLAN network stability.
As mentioned earlier, the new ColorOS update is currently available to OnePlus 11 and 12 series users in China. An international rollout has yet to be confirmed by the company.
