vivo Malaysia today has finally confirmed the local launch date for its X100 flagship smartphone series. According to its latest update, the event will be held on 3 January 2024, though the brand has yet to confirm whether it will actually organise a physical or virtual launch, or both.

For those who’ve missed our prior coverage, the upcoming vivo X100 series consists of two models: a standard variant, and a Pro. Both are the first smartphones to feature MediaTek’s latest flagship chipset, the Dimensity 9300, as well as sporting the same design and 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 2800 x 1260 pixel resolution, a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and 120Hz refresh rate.

Based on the series’ launch in China, the Pro model is revealed to come with a quad-camera setup consisting of a 1-inch 50MP primary sensor, along with a 50MP ultra-wide and a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The standard model, on the other hand, packs a smaller 50MP unit for its primary, which is paired together with the same 50MP ultra-wide and a smaller 50MP telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom.

As for battery, the vivo X100 Pro comes with a 5,400mAh capacity with 120W fast charging via USB-C. Meanwhile, the standard variant gets a smaller 5,000mAh battery and a lower fast charging rate of only 100W, but gains 50W wireless charging capability.

No local pricing for the series has been confirmed just yet, and it is expected that vivo will only reveal this detail and more during the upcoming launch. Also, don’t forget to check out our hands-on article for our first impressions with the vivo X100 Pro.
