As promised prior to this, Insta360 today has officially unveiled its latest action cameras, the Ace and Ace Pro. Unlike its usual offerings, the new shooters are more reminiscent of GoPro’s recent Hero series, featuring a traditional design with a front-facing display, but adds a 2.4-inch flip-up touchscreen for ease of framing.

The standard insta360 Ace comes with a 1/2-inch image sensor that supports up to 6K30p recordings, while the Ace Pro gets a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor behind a Leica Summarit lens and has better low-light performance, Active HDR support and up to 8K24p recording capability. Regardless of variant, the new cameras come with five-nanometer AI chips and are able to record 4K videos at 120fps and snap 48MP pictures.

As mentioned earlier, both models feature a flip-up touchscreen for framing, while its front screen offers a simple interface that displays battery and recording information. Additionally, the new Ace cameras are also waterproof, with the ability to submerge up to 33 feet underwater and even deeper at up to 196 feet via the Dive Case accessory. Meanwhile, their swappable batteries are claimed to last up to 100 minutes while recording in 4K30p and has fast-charging support that allows for an 80% top-up in just 22 minutes via a power delivery charger.

Features-wise, the new insta360 Ace series comes with hand gesture recognition, the brand’s signature FlowState stabilisation, as well as AI capabilities that can automatically find and clip out action shots from large video recordings so you don’t have to transfer the whole file to your smartphone or other external devices. Both cameras also come with connectivity features with Apple and Garmin smartwatches which lets you frame your shots and control them via your wrist, as well as bring GPS and other data such as elevation and speed into your recordings.

The insta360 Ace action cameras are now available for pre-order in Malaysia via the brand’s official online store on Shopee and Lazada. The standard variant is priced from RM1,749, while the Pro starts from RM2,099. Packaged together with either model is a USB-C to USB-C cable, a battery, a standard mount, and a flexible adhesive mount.
