It's unclear why it did so.

CIMB has abruptly discontinued support for Touch ‘n Go reload services using its ATMs, according to a notice from the bank dated 28 April. The change went into effect yesterday, 2 May 2023, making the reload service unavailable to TnG users who use a CIMB ATM moving forward.

The announcement did not state the reason behind why the company decided to pull support for the service, it only advised users to look for other Touch ‘n Go reload points. Currently, the only banks that are still listed as supporting the reload service through ATMs are Maybank, RHB, and Bank Muamalat, according to Touch ‘n Go’s policy page.

Oddly enough, the payment system is wholly owned by CIMB Group, so it’s unclear why or how it makes sense for its own ATMs not to support the card reload service. Other reload points include LRT, MRT, and monorail stations as well as certain convenience stores and petrol stations, although most third-party locations charge a RM0.50 fee for every reload.

To reload without the fee, you will need to find a Touch ‘n Go self-service kiosk or one of the few third-party points that do not charge the fee. Some of those locations include Caring Pharmacy, Watson’s, and 99 Speedmart stores nationwide.

The most convenient method to top-up the card is by getting yourself the Enhanced version, which enables you to reload it from your phone through NFC. However, this would hinge on you being able to actually get the card, as batches are often sold out soon after being made available for purchase on Lazada, although now the cards are restocked daily.

CIMB has recently also made some changes to enhance the security of its banking services. For one thing, FPX transactions over RM100 now require SecureTAC approval instead of through SMS TACs, with plans to eventually extend this requirement to transactions below RM100. It also introduced the Lock Clicks ID kill switch on its app, which lets users quickly freeze compromised accounts.
