Here’s some good news to start the day for subscribers to the Hotlink Postpaid 40 and 60 plans. Maxis is upgrading these plans so that they get an extra 10GB to both plans, effectively pushing the data allocations for these plans from 20GB to 30GB and from 40GB to 50GB, respectively.

These changes will also streamline the amount of data that the telco is giving to subscribers. As it was previously, the Hotlink Postpaid 40 plan actually only gave users 12GB of data a month, with an extra 8GB per month for the first 12 months to prop the first year’s monthly data rate to 20GB. Ditto the Hotlink Postpaid 60 plan, which really just provides 30GB a month with the first 12 months getting a bonus of 10GB. Once this comes into effect, the 30GB and 50GB data allocation that subscribers get is the real quota that will be available throughout their subscription period.

On the flip side though, Maxis is doing away with the YouTube passes that you can get with the Hotlink Postpaid 40 and 60 plans. Which is a small price to pay, since the data quota bump that subscribers are getting is greater than the YouTube pass’ allocation anyway.

These changes are effective starting today for new subscribers to these Hotlink Postpaid 40 and 60 plans. This includes those who upgrade from the telco’s prepaid plans, as well as those who port in from another telco. For existing customers, the telco will send you an SMS to notify you when your data quota has gotten the upgrade. According to the FAQ section of these plans, Maxis says that current subscribers to these two plans can expect these changes to come into effect between today, 9 February, and 3 March 2023. You can find out more by visiting the newly-updated page, linked below.

Thanks Kevin Ng TK for the tip!
