Surface Laptop 5 Coming Soon To Malaysia With A Starting Price Of RM5,299

Last month, we have noticed that Microsoft Malaysia highlighted Surface Laptop 5 on its website immediately after its global unveiling. Fast forward to just a few days ago, authorized Surface retailers throughout the country have since begun taking pre-orders for the new laptop.

For those who missed the original announcement, the Surface Laptop 5 is essentially a specs refresh as the physical design is still identical to last year’s Surface Laptop 4. Just like the Surface Pro 9, the new clamshell-style Surface model also features the 12th Gen Intel Core processors.

Aside from that, the USB-C port of Surface Laptop 5 is now able to support Thunderbolt 4 and USB 4.0 while the device continues to feature a USB-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Surface Connect port. Microsoft claimed that Surface Laptop 5 with a 13.5-inch display has a battery life of 18 hours while the 15-inch version can go up to 17 hours

Under the pre-order program which will last until the end of this month, each customer will be provided with a free Microsoft Arc Mouse. They will also receive additional gifts although the actual freebies are different from one retailer to another.

For example, SNS Network’s Gloo is giving away a 27-inch Samsung LED monitor while Senheng and senQ are also providing a free monitor to their pre-order customers although its brand and size were not mentioned on their websites. On the other hand, PC Image pre-order customers will receive a 23.5-inch Samsung monitor, an HP Deskjet all-in-one printer, a Moxom wireless speaker, and 1-year subscription to McAfee LifeSafe Antivirus Security.
