realme is finally bringing the Pad X, the successor to its first tablet, the realme Pad, to Malaysia. Launched in China back in May, the device is a much higher-end offering compared to the previous tablet the brand brought to our market, the Pad Mini since it has a significantly bigger display and a more powerful processor.

Equipped with a 10.95-inch LCD display with a 5:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2000×1200, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 695 chipset from Qualcomm. realme is offering a single configuration with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in Malaysia at the moment although its website also mentions a 4GB+64GB model, which does not seem to be up for sale at the moment.

The tablet also has a microSD slot for storage expansion up to 512GB as well as a SIM card slot for 5G cellular data. While it lacks a fingerprint scanner, there are some extra features such as magnetic wireless charging support for the realme Pencil and Dolby Atmos quad speakers.

Camera-wise, the Pad X features a 13MP main shooter on the back, which can also shoot 1080p videos at 60fps. Up front, video calling takes a big priority with a 105-degree 8MP wide-angle camera with support for Limelight which is realme’s take on Apple’s Center Stage feature that tracks your face to keep you in the frame.

The new realme tablet also features a much larger battery with a capacity of 8,340mAh, which the company claims can enable the device to last up to 19 hours on video playback. It takes a tablet less than three hours to be fully charged with the 33W fast charger and it is also capable of reverse charging, turning it into a power bank for your other devices.

The realme Pad X is available on Shopee in grey and blue, retailing for RM1,699. However, it is launching with a promo price of RM1,399 from today until 25 August, which is limited to the first 300 units and comes with a one-year extended warranty.
