Honda Malaysia today announced that its assembly plant at Pegoh Industrial Park in Melaka has just rolled out its one millionth vehicle. The milestone came just a year after the company achieved an accumulative sale of over one million vehicles since its establishment in 2000.
Opened in 2003, the original No. 1 Line of the plant was designed to deliver 50,000 cars per year. The capacity of the Pegoh facility was then expanded further to 100,000 vehicles per year when Honda officially launched the No.2 Line in 2014.
Honda also noted that the manufacturing technologies at the Pegoh Plant are on par with its counterparts in Japan which includes the capability to perform Laser Brazing, Inner Frame Welding, and Spray Polyurethane Foam. At the moment, the facility assembles City, City Hatchback, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, and CR-V which includes their standard i-VTEC option as well as e:HEV/Hybrid, and VTEC Turbocharged variants.
