Honda Malaysia has announced that the 2026 Honda City is now open for booking. It will be available in both petrol and hybrid models. It’s a bigger facelift than before, with a narrower grille and slimmer LED headlights. The long light bar being integrated also gives a cleaner and sleeker look, as opposed to the bulging grille in the prior model.
The petrol version of the 2026 Honda City runs a 1.5l DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which outputs 121 PS (~89 kW) and 145 Nm. As for the hybrid model, the 1.5l e:HEV powertrain and the Electronic CVT outputs 109 PS (~80 kW) and 253 Nm instead.
On the inside, the upcoming City gets a 10-inch infotainment display with ambient lighting. There’s also the new Multi-View Camera System, which is what the company calls its 360-degree view camera. This is paired with blind spot information, cross traffic monitoring system, as well as the rest of the Honda Sensing suite of safety features.
The list includes lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, a lane keep assist system, forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking system, auto high beam, adaptive cruise control and lead car departure notification. There’s also a low speed follow function, but this one is noted to be exclusive to the e:HEV RS model.
For now, Honda Malaysia has not revealed the prices of the new City. Instead, it has announced a pre-booking campaign for the car. If you book one by 30 September, the company is offering what it calls “a RM3,000 Early Bird Reward”. You can do so via the dedicated pre-booking page, linked here, or at authorised dealerships nationwide. For the hybrid model specifically, the company is promising a 10-year and unlimited mileage warranty for its hybrid battery and components.
