Sports apparel brand Reebok, to everyone’s surprise, has launched its first ever smartwatch known as the Reebok ActiveFit 1.0. As you’d expect, the new device is a health and fitness oriented wearable that is equipped with relevant sensors and features such as heart rate tracking, blood oxygen monitoring, workout apps, and so on.
The new Reebok ActiveFit 1.0 comes with a circular 1.3-inch HD touchscreen display, which features multiple watch faces that can be customised by users. The watch itself is presented in a minimalist design, featuring a thick bezel surrounding its screen and comes with a single button on its right-hand side. And of course, it also comes with a dust and water resistance rating of IP67 for workouts and outdoor usage. In terms of colour options, the watch is offered in Blue, Black, Navy, and Red.
As mentioned earlier, the ActiveFit 1.0 is equipped with a variety of health and fitness sensors and features such as trackers for blood oxygen, sleep, calorie, women’s health, and 24/7 heart rate monitoring. In addition, the new smartwatch comes with 15 fitness tracking modes for a large variety of workout activities such as walking, running, yoga, and more. It is also capable of displaying notifications and alerts, managing music playback, acting as a remote interface for smartphone cameras, as well as making and receiving phone calls.
Reebok’s first smartwatch offers up to 15 days of battery life on a single charge, and has a standby time of up to 30 days. There’s also fast charging support via USB, which the brand claims is able to fully top-up the device in just around two hours.
Unfortunately, fans of the Adidas-owned sports brand will be disappointed to know that the Reebok ActiveFit 1.0 is currently an Amazon exclusive that is only available in India. On that note, the watch is offered at a promotional price of only INR 4,499 (~RM 252) for a limited time to commemorate its launch. Sources such as 91Mobiles and Gizmochina say that Reebok and Amazon will increase the pricing after 28 January 2022.
Reebok’s debut in the smartwatch scene is undoubtedly unexpected. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see how the ActiveFit 1.0 fares against steep competition, which includes other similar devices from brands such as Xiaomi and Realme.
