realme’s catalogue in Malaysia has been expanded once again with the official unveiling of its new laptop, the realme Book for our market yesterday. The launch took place just days after the laptop made its global debut a few days ago.

For those who have yet to get acquainted with the new laptop, the realme Book generally competes in the highly competitive thin and light productivity-oriented market. Equipped with aluminium chassis, realme said that the new laptop has a thickness of between 14.9mm to 15.5mm and weights at around 1.38kg.

realme Book also features a 3:2 14-inch IPS display with a native resolution of 2160 x 1440 together with a maximum brightness level of 400 nits and 100% sRGB colour gamut coverage. Customers can choose to obtain it with either Intel Core i3-1115G4 or Core i5-1135G7 processor which also comes with integrated Intel UHD Graphics and Iris Xe Graphics, respectively.

realme has also equipped a pair of speakers from Harman into realme Book together with DTS Stereo Surround Sound as it audio enhancement. Users can also utilise the laptop to access apps and notifications as well as perform file transfers with selected realme smartphones via PC Connect software.

That being said, the PC Connect software apparently only works with realme GT Master Edition at the moment while realme GT Master Explorer Edition and realme GT to receive the support via OTA update soon. In case you didn’t realise, none of these phones is available in Malaysia just yet but nevertheless, the brand has promised that the support will be made available to other realme models in the near future.

Meanwhile, realme Book’s 54Wh battery provides the laptop with up to 11 hours of operational time while its 65W charger is able to replenish up to 50% of the battery within 30 minutes. The charger is also compatible with realme’s Dart Charge technology which is available on certain realme phones but the power output would be limited to 30W.

In terms of pricing, the Core i3 model with 8GB/256GB configuration will be made available for RM2,999. On another hand, the Core i5 version with 8GB/512GB setup is priced at RM3,499 while the 16GB/512GB option goes for RM3,999.

As part of its launch promotion, customers can obtain the 8GB/256GB variant of Core i3 realme Book for a slightly lower price at RM2,499 on 27 and 28 August via the brand’s official store on Shopee. The Core i5-based realme Book with 8GB/512GB setup will be released on 27 August too but those who prefer the 16GB/512GB option will have to wait for further announcement from the brand as it will only be released in Malaysia at a later time.
