Microsoft Is Giving Away A Flight Simulator Limited Edition Jet Engine-Shaped Gaming PC

Microsoft Flight Simulator Giveaway Jet Engine Gaming PC

Microsoft, via Xbox France, is currently doing a giveaway that will entitle one lucky winner to receive a Flight Simulator themed limited edition gaming PC. And not just any typical one either. This PC’s case is modeled after a plane’s jet engine or rather, a cross section of it.

Oh, and it comes with decent hardware for you to play games on it too.

The giveaway is in conjunction with the launch of Flight Simulator’s big update that was recently released, featuring a major makeover of France and the Benelux Union (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg). According to Microsoft, locations within these regions have been upgraded to feature more true-to-life details, landmarks and points of interests such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Church of Our Lady in Bruges, The Palace of Justice of Brussels, and plenty more.

Back to the main highlight of this article. The Flight Simulator gaming PC is a collaborative effort between Microsoft and Gigabyte, where featured onboard this case is not actually a turbine engine, but the latter’s GeForce RTX 3070 GPU and an Aorus Elite AX motherboard. Paired along with the two is an 11th gen Intel processor – specifically, a Core i7 11700K. Unfortunately, Microsoft did not detail the RAM and storage configuration featured on the rig. Granted, the specs are enough to have it boot up Flight Simulator, but it may be unlikely to run the game at maximum settings – especially in 4K resolution.

Undeniably, the more interesting aspect for this gaming PC is the case itself. As mentioned earlier, it features a surrounding aesthetic that resembles a highly detailed exterior of a plane’s jet engine. You can find the branding for Microsoft Flight Simulator on its right side and on the opposite end is the cutaway view of the engine, where you can see the internal components of the PC. Perhaps a missed opportunity, but it would’ve been cool (literally too) if the turbine’s fan doubled as a cooling system for the rig.

Also, do keep in mind that the PC featured in the tweet is a 3D render and not the actual product itself. However, that alone is more than enough to give us an idea of how massive the rig will actually be, so pray that you have enough room to store it if the lucky winner happens to be you.

Speaking of which. Despite being hosted by Xbox France, there are no rules barring people from other countries outside of France to join in. Conditions for participating is pretty simple; you are required to follow Xbox France’s Twitter account, retweet the contest post, and comment on it together with the hashtag #MicrosoftFlightSimulator.

With that, we wish you good luck. And remember to think of a damn good explanation for your parents/spouse/roommate on why you suddenly have a jet engine in your gaming room.
