Samsung Malaysia has announced that the LTE variant of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE) will be locally available soon. The original version of the phone was launched in the country in early October 2020.

This model of the Galaxy S20 FE is naturally cheaper than the original due to the lack of 5G support. While a majority of the phone – from its display, battery and camera setup – is similar, the LTE variant instead relies on Samsung’s Exynos 990 chipset rather than a Snapdragon 865. The company did not specify on its RAM and storage configurations  but it is expected that the new model may feature up to 8GB and 256GB respectively, according to GSMArena.

As mentioned earlier, most of the phone’s specifications are the same as the 5G-enabled model. To recap, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE comes with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED FHD display with a default refresh rate of 120Hz. It is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery with 25W USB-C fast charging support, 15W via wireless, and 4.5W reverse charging.

On the phone’s back is a triple camera setup consisting of a 12MP wide sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto with 3X optical and 30X digital zooming capabilities. On its front display is a single punch-hole camera cutout which houses a 32MP selfie camera.

Other features include NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 support, an in-display fingerprint sensor, AKG tuned stereo speakers, One UI 2.5 (based on Android 10), and the phone itself is water-resistant with a rating of IP68. The new Samsung Galaxy S20 FE LTE will be available in three colours: Cloud Lavender, Cloud Orange and Cloud Red.

The Galaxy S20 FE LTE will retail at RM2,699 and its local availability is expected to be announced soon by Samsung Malaysia. For reference, the 5G-enabled model is priced at RM3,399 and is in-stores nationwide.
