Spotify To Soon Allow Podcast Hosts To Provide Listeners With Full Music Tracks

Spotify is reportedly working on a new podcast format to allow full music listening while a podcast episode is being streamed. The streaming service says that this mode will enable podcast host to create the new format via its podcast creation app, Anchor.

There are a couple of catches, though. First, the new mode is seemingly only available to creators in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. Second, you’ll need to be a Spotify Premium subscriber in order to access the service.

By doing this, Spotify is hoping to allow its subscribers to listen to an entire music track, instead of being limited to a brief sample of it due to copyright issues. In addition to this new mode, Spotify will also be launching seven new original series that will specifically take advantage of the new podcast format.
