OPPO Malaysia has announced that the entry-level A53 smartphone is now available in Malaysia. At its current price-range, it is perhaps one of the more affordable devices in the market to sport a 90Hz display.
The aforementioned display on the OPPO A53 is a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, and features a punch-hole cutout on its upper left. The phone also includes a Snapdragon 460 chipset, rear mounted fingerprint scanner, expandable storage of up to 256GB via microSd, and a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W VOOC fast-charging.
However, the company did not reveal the total amount of RAM and internal storage featured on the device. For reference, the A53 available in other markets includes RAM of up to 6GB and storage capacity of up to 128GB. Additionally, the phone runs on Android 10 via ColorOS 7.2 out of the box.
Photography-wise, the newly announced OPPO smartphone features a triple-camera setup on its back. These consist of a 13MP main camera, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. Housed in the cutout in its front display is a 16MP selfie camera.
The OPPO A53 is available now through the brand’s online store, as well as official OPPO stores and authorised distributors nationwide. The new smartphone retails at RM699, and is available in two colours: Fancy Blue and Electric Black.
