Sony Interactive Entertainment may have up to 10 million PlayStation 5 units produced by the end of the year. By default, the console comes in a two-tone, black and white colourway. If you want your console to stand out, you can have the white bits swapped out for 24K gold instead.
That’s one of the three choices that UK-based luxury personaliser Truly Exquisite is offering. The other two choices you have if you’ve got the money for it are platinum and 18K rose gold. The company is not stopping with just the PS5 console either. The DualSense controller and the Pulse 3D Wireless headset can also be given the bling of your choice.
Of course, none of this is officially SIE-sanctioned. Truly Exquisite says on its page “We cannot wait to start custom making these true beauties”. And so it is now only registering interest for these shiny coats for the PlayStation 5. This means the company will have to wait to get the console later in the year like all of us. Those who want the custom look, then, will have to wait longer for the company to work its magic.
As you’d expect, there’s a catch. Beyond the possibility that this is likely a UK-only thing, there’s also no mention of the price of any of these custom PS5 jobs. Getting any of the special coats will likely more than burn through any budget you may have for your console and its games.
