AMD Zen 2-Based Ryzen 3 Processors Reportedly In The Works

AMD is rumoured to be working on Ryzen 3 CPUs based on its Zen 2 CPU microarchitecture. Further, the CPU is expected to feature a 4-cores, 8-threads layout and go toe-to-toe with the upcoming 10th generation Intel Core i3 CPUs.

Rumours of the alleged entry-level Ryzen 3 CPUs first came to light through a tweet by serial hardware leakster @momomo_us, who named not one but two potential Ryzen 3 CPUs. Specifically, the tweet listed a Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X.

Ryzen 3 3300X : 100-000000159

Sadly, the tweet’s lacking a great deal of information, but online tech site Tom’s Hardware seems to have made its own speculations about the processors. Naturally, the CPUs will be based on AMD’s 7nm die lithography, but more importantly, it will have a TDP of 65W. Moreover, the CPUs could get boost clocks of 3.9GHz and 4.3GHz, respectively, along with a 16MB L3 Cache and 2MB L2 cache.

On a side note, because the supposed Ryzen 3 CPUs will be based on Zen 2, it’s also likely that they will also support the same PCIe 4.0 interface, just like its other more powerful 3rd generation Ryzen brethren.

It goes without saying that these CPUs have yet to be officially confirmed by AMD, meaning that there’s a possibility that they some details on the processors will change or just never manifest at all. Whatever the case, we suggest that you take this bit of news with a pinch of salt.
