He’s a treat for 90s kids who grew up watching Disney Channel’s High School Musical on repeat and even rushed to the ticket counter when High School Musical 3 hit the big screens. According to Collider, the gang from High School Musical will be coming together (virtually) for the first time to perform “We’re All in This Together” from their individual homes. This includes Vanessa Hudgens (who played Gabriella), Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay), Corbin Blue (Chad), Monique Coleman (Taylor), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan), and much to my surprise, Troy Bolton himself, Zac Efron. (I only say I’m surprised because Efron has tried to distance himself away from High School Musical for the longest time, as he’s made a name for himself as a pretty solid comedic actor.)
The gang are coming back together for The Disney Family Singalong, which will air on ABC on Friday morning. While it might be a little tricky for Malaysians to watch this the same time as the US, I’m confident their social-distancing performance will make its way to YouTube and social media.
Ryan Seacrest will be hosting the virtual event which will also feature Auli’I Cravalho singing “How Far I’ll Go” from Moana, Donny Osmond performing “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan and Christina Aguilera belting “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from The Lion King.
