Disney has rolled the redesigned app for its Disney+ streaming service in Malaysia, bringing a completely revamped user experience and a new way to browse its content. The overhaul features a modernised interface that separates content into dedicated Disney and Hulu sections, while also adding sports and live broadcasts from ESPN.
As we reported previously, Disney had announced that it would be introducing a new version of its Disney+ app in Malaysia last month. The company has now begun rolling it out locally, available now via Apple App Store and Google Play.

The updated Disney+ interface now features dedicated sections for Disney and Hulu, allowing subscribers to browse content from each brand separately. Users can also access dedicated tabs for movies, TV series and platform-exclusive content.
Another notable addition is sports, with Disney+ now featuring content and live broadcasts from ESPN. This gives the Malaysian version of the service access to sports programming alongside its existing library of movies and TV shows.

Despite the changes, Disney+ subscription prices in Malaysia remain unchanged for now. The Disney+ Standard plan continues to cost RM29.90 per month or RM214.90 per year, while the Disney+ Premium plan remains priced at RM289.90 per year.
However, existing subscribers will have to start over when it comes to their viewing history. Disney says users will need to create a new profile on the updated version of Disney+, meaning their existing viewing history will not carry over and they will need to rebuild their recommendations over time.
