Following the revelation by Xiaomi a week ago, the company today has officially announced the new Redmi Note 9S for Malaysia which is essentially the global version of Redmi Note 9 Pro that was announced in India recently. In general, our market is the first in Southeast Asia to receive the phone which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G.
Equipped with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and supports HDR10 contents. With memory configuration of up to 6GB of RAM, it also comes with up to 128GB of internal storage that can be expended further with up to 512GB microSD card.
Photography-wise, there are four cameras in total on its back including the 48MP main camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro cameras as well as 2MP depth sensor. There is also a 16MP in-display selfie camera.
The phone also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is integrated with the phone’s power button alongside a 3.5mm audio jack and IR blaster. Completing the phone general specifications is a 5020mAh battery that supports fast charging with maximum rating of 18W. Interesting enough, the charger that is included in the box has maximum power rating of 22.5W.
Available in Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey, the new Redmi Note 9S with 4GB/64GB configuration is priced at RM 799 will be made available from 27 March 2020 onwards. The 6GB/128GB variant on another hand will cost RM 899 and will be released in early April.
