TM has revealed that one of its employees is now being tested for COVID-19. If tested positive, this would be the first such case for the major telecommunication company.

In its announcement, TM further stated that the employee is based at Menara TM One which is located in Damansara and was put into lockdown since last night for disinfection work. For those who not familiar with the name, TM One is the company’s subsidiary that specialized in enterprise and cloud solution.

The company believes that the employee who was on leave since 11 March is likely to develop the symptoms outside of its office and is currently receiving medical care at an unnamed government hospital. Contract tracing has also been performed by Ministry of Health and TM’s internal COVID-19 Response Team for further actions which include home quarantine or medical attention at the nearest health facilities.

Prior to this, TM stated it has already implemented plenty of measures in response to the COVID-19 outbreak including frequent alerts for its workforce, temperature checks, increased amount of sanitization work, and enough placements of hand sanitisers throughout all of its offices as well as TMpoint outlets. Non-critical employees have also been asked to work from home while those with critical roles were provided with flexible working hours or split working teams.

Meanwhile, you also need to do your part in combating the spread of COVID-19. Take care of your hygiene and stay home throughout the Movement Control Order, so that we can together helped break the chain of the pandemic.
