Just in time for the final episode of Game of Thrones (albeit few hours too late), consumers in Malaysia are now able to access HBO Go streaming service. As per our report a few weeks ago, the service is provided as a free feature for Astro Movies Pack.
If you are one such customer, you can now enjoy HBO contents through HBO Go’s official website. All you need to do to access HBO Go is sign in to the website using your existing Astro ID although some contents apparently can be enjoyed without the need of registration.
Since the service utilizes adaptive streaming technology, the actual output quality depends on the strength of your Internet connection. According to the FAQ section of the website, the minimum required bit rate for HBO Go is 512kbps.
Meanwhile, HBO Go’s Android and iOS apps are still not available for Malaysian users for the time being though. Nevertheless, we expect this to change very soon.
