The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has urged members of the public not to share the video of the mass shooting incident that involved two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand earlier today. This was done through a statement that it has released on Twitter and Facebook.

In the statement, MCMC has also reminded members of the public that sharing offensive content through the Internet is a breach of Section 233 under the 1998 Communications and Multimedia Act.

Here it is, in full:

During the mass shooting attack which happened during Friday prayers with more than 40 people were killed, the attacker has apparently live-streamed the attack online. Multiple service providers including YouTube has been working to remove the violent footages from their respective platforms or services.
