Not long after its global launch at CES 2019, we had the opportunity to check out the Lenovo Legion Y740 gaming laptops in Bangkok in conjunction with Legion of Champions Series III Grand Finals just a few weeks ago. Interestingly, they have since quietly made their way into our market through Lenovo Malaysia’s official online store.

As you might already know, the Legion Y740 can be obtained with 15.6 and 17.3-inch display. Regardless of customers’ choice, both displays come with anti-glare Full HD IPS panels with 144Hz refresh rate and maximum brightness level of 300nits.

Similarly, both models are also equipped with Intel Core i7-8750H processor as standard. By default, they come with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics although customers can choose to have the GeForce RTX 2070 instead for additional RM 941 on top of their prices.

The base specs for both Legion Y740 variants also come with 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM, 1TB 7200rpm hard drive and 256GB NVMe solid state drive. Just like their graphics options, Lenovo does provide a number of RAM, HDD, and SSD option that customers can mix-and-match which naturally would also affect their pricing.

Speaking about the price, the base specs for Legion Y740 with 15-inch display goes for RM 8198 while the 17-model is listed at RM 8464. However, the prices we mentioned here are inclusive of the discounts which means that their original price tags were much higher.

For further information, just head on to Lenovo Malaysia’s official website but before that, don’t forget to check out our hands-on experience with Legion Y740 gaming laptops right here.
