Together with two new huge monitors and a new variant of Swift 3 14-inch laptop, Acer recently has also introduced the latest version of its Aspire 5 laptops in Malaysia. First announced at IFA 2018 in Berlin, the new models offer a slight tweak to their design and hardware.

For starters, the 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display on new Aspire 5 laptops now come with slimmer bezels as compared to their predecessors which were released in Malaysia back in September 2017. The 2018 models continue to feature the NVIDIA GeForce MX150 dedicated graphics with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM while at the same time, they now feature the 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U or Core i7-8565U chips from the Whiskey Lake-U family which was announced back in August.

As a comparison, while the 2017 Aspire 5 laptops still came with 8th Gen Intel Core processors but those chips belonged to the older Kaby Lake R family. That being said though, the 2018 Aspire 5 laptops still have the same battery life rating of up to 7 hours.

Equipped with 4GB of RAM and 1TB HDD as standard, customers who choose to obtain the Core i7 model which is priced at RM 3599 will found an additional 128GB inside their laptop. On another hand, the Core i5-based Aspire 5 can be purchased for RM 2699.

Both models are readily available through the country at both brick-and-mortar Acer dealers as well as online stores.
