Dell has recently revealed that it has detected an attack on its network with the aim to stole customers’ information. Due to the breach, the company has since decided to reset the password for all Dell.com customers.
According to the official statement from the company, the attack took place on 9 November 2018 involving Dell’s official website which also acts as its online store. Among the information that have been targeted include names, email addresses, and passwords although the passwords have been hashed.
Dell stated that its own investigations showed that there is no exact evidence that the attacker managed to steal any information from the company’s network. Interestingly, credit card and other sensitive information were not targeted though.
Due to the password reset, customers might be asked to set a new password when they log in to Dell’s official website. For more information regarding the incident, head on to the official mini-site regarding the security breach right here.
