A few leaked photos of Samsung’s first ever Original Device Manufacturer (ODM) smartphone has appeared online. The phone, codenamed Phoenix, is expected to be branded as the Galaxy A6s exclusively for the Chinese market.
Set to be built by Wintech, the phone carries the same DNA as the recently launched Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9. Infinity Display and glass back construction is present with the new models. For context, Wintech is the same company that is responsible for manufacturing Xiaomi devices.
Not much info has been leaked about the phones’ internals. What we do know is that it will have dual-camera at the rear alongside a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. From the images, the colour selection is also interesting, with multiple options for different markets and needs.
Samsung is following tradition in keeping the 3.5mm audio jack for the mid-range smartphones. It is also slapping on USB Type-C for connectivity – if the photos are correct.
At this time, Samsung still hasn’t given a launch date for the phone. That said, the colours are pretty radical – even for Samsung.
