Despite the changes within the industry which saw the emergence of gaming laptops with thin chassis, Alienware offerings somehow continue to remain heavy and chunky even with the redesigned models that it released in 2016. Things have finally changed today though with the official unveiling of Alienware m15.

While the design language of the laptop remained similar to existing Alienware gaming laptop lineup, the Alienware m15 is much slimmer than any of them at 20.99mm. In fact, the new laptop is much thinner and lighter than Alienware 13 which is the brand’s smallest model at the moment despite the m15 being a 15.6-inch laptop.

Speaking about the display, customers are able to obtain the 2.16kg laptop with either Full HD 60Hz IPS panel or 144Hz TN panel. For those who prefer a higher resolution display, they can also opt for the 4K UHD 60Hz IPS panel.

In terms of processor, it can be equipped with either 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8300H or Intel Core i7-8750H while m15’s graphics options consist of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (standard) and GeForce GTX 1070 Max-Q. However, users can still obtain even more graphics firepower by plugging the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series graphics card into it via Alienware Graphics Amplifier.

The m15 is also able to support up to 32GB DDR4-2666 RAM in total. Storage-wise, the laptop can be fitted with a 1TB hybrid drive or 256GB SATA M.2 solid state drive for single storage configuration. For dual-storage configuration, the combination that the laptop is able to support maxed out at 512GB + 256GB PCIe M.2 solid state drives.

In terms of availability, the Alienware m15 will be rolling out into stores throughout the world starting from 25 October onwards with a starting price of USD 1299 (about RM 5,388). Naturally, the specific release date and pricing for Malaysia will likely be different but those details have not yet been revealed by Dell Malaysia. So, stay tuned.
