Alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung has also brought forward the much rumored Galaxy Watch at its Unpacked 2018 event earlier today. While it might be the company’s most straightforwardly-named wearable to date, it is also the most well-equipped smartwatch the company has ever announced as well.

To stand out from the fitness-tracking wearable crowd, the Samsung claims that the Galaxy Watch tracks a total of 39 different workouts, as well as intuitive calorie tracking. If you use this alongside a Galaxy device with Bixby Vision, you can also take a photo of your meal and nutritional information will be logged into the Samsung Health app for you to track.

Completing the health-monitoring package of the Galaxy Watch, it is also capable of stress management tracking as well as an advanced sleep tracker that can even monitor your REM cycles.

Impressive sounding features aside, it comes with the kind of spec sheet you’d expect to see from a wearable by Samsung. Equipped with a 360 x 360 cicular Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy Watch is powered by an 1.15GHz Exynos 9110 dual core processor, 4GB of internal storage, and WPC based wireless charging.

It’s also got a few survivability certifications, such as MIL-STD 810G, IP68 and 5ATM, which makes it a swim-friendly smartwatch. Meanwhile, we have mentioned earlier in the title that there are three different style options to the Galaxy Watch.

To start off, there are the 42mm Midnight Black and 42mm Rose Gold variants which make use of 20mm interchangeable straps. They also come with a 270mAh battery that allows them to be operated for around 45 hours with typical usage or 120 hours with low usage.

Then there’s also the 46mm Silver Galaxy Watch that makes use of 22mm interchangeable straps, and come with a 472mAh battery that can keep the watch powered for 80 hours. Not to forget, the LTE version of these watches are equipped with 1.5GB of RAM while the Bluetooth 4.2 models has about half of that, at 768MB.

While Samsung has not provided the prices or release dates for the Galaxy Watches, we’re sure they will be announced locally pretty soon after, if not alongside, the Galaxy Note 9. We’ll keep you noted (aha) once we receive further updates from Samsung.
