Sennheiser recently launched the HD 820 closed-back headphones in Malaysia. Featuring a metal headband with an inner damping element, the HD 820 also comes with silver-cladded OFC cables and gold-plated plugs.
As mentioned in our video below, the HD 820 are designed to be extremely lightweight so as to ensure that whoever uses doesn’t feel uncomfortable or weighed down by it over long periods of time. Still focusing on the design; the HD 820 are unique in that they are currently the only pair of headphones that uses a special and patent-pending curved Gorilla Glass 6 covers.
These glass covers are placed on top of each of the Rig Radiator transducers, reflecting sound waves to two absorber chambers, and thus minimising resonance. According to Sennheiser, this gives the headphones an incredibly realistic and natural sound field.
The Sennheiser HD 820 is already available in Malaysia. It will be sold exclusive at the Sennheiser store in Suria KLCC, and retails for RM11,900. For those who wish to further enhance the audio experience of the HD 820, Sennheiser is also selling the HDV 820 amplifier at its store at an SRP of RM12,990.
Like all amplifiers, the HDV 820 is a specially tuned device designed to provide users of the HD 820 with consistent symmetrical signal processing and extremely low harmonic distortion.
