Samsung is reportedly preparing to bring its family of virtual reality headsets into the Galaxy brand. This doesn’t sound outside the realm of possibility, considering that the company has is already said to be moving to rebrand its other wearable products as well.
The actual plans for a new VR headset are still unknown, with Sammobile claiming that an inside source would only tell them of the new Galaxy VR branding. When this branding is set to be debuted to also unknown; although it is likely that it will only make an appearance with the Galaxy S10 next year.
Earlier trademark filings have seen both the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Fit names been claimed by Samsung. Likely to replace the current names for its lines of smartwatches and fitness bands. Despite this, there has been no indication of a move in that direction yet.
Trademark filings are sometimes complicated matters, but are usually more indicative of future product plans than patents. Mostly because a trademark indicates that some sort of actual trade is going to happen with the name. In this case, we don’t know if Samsung has filed for the Galaxy VR name yet; but it could likely happen soon enough.
