New information about the Sony Xperia XZ Pro suggests that the device will feature a display with the 18:9 ratio. The information was spotted through a filing on HTML Benchmark, where the phone was being tested for its ability to render web content. The filing also shows that the phone was running on Android 8.1 when it was being tested.
The accuracy of the filing is somewhat suspect, as the document refers to the phone as the Xperia XZ2 Pro. It’s possible that the ‘2’ could be a typo, especially since the majority of leaks to date have referred to it as the Xperia XZ Pro.
Then there’s the display resolution that is listed as 424 x 848. While it’s very unlikely that this will be the actual resolution of the display, what is interesting to note is that the numbers reflects a 2:1 ratio, hinting again at the possible 18:9 ratio display. Again, this bit of news isn’t conclusive, so as always, we do ask our readers to take its with a heavy pinch of salt.
The Sony Xperia XZ Pro is rumoured to be making its debut during MWC 2018 this year. It is reported that it will launch with a Snapdragon 845 processor, a 5.7-inch 4K OLED display, and a dual camera setup for its main camera array.
