Sony has apparently finalised the specifications of its 2018 flagship, and is rumoured to be announcing something during Mobile World Congress 2018. What is notable about this supposed leak is that Sony will be getting with the current trends and feature a phone with minimal bezels.
The shared image shows a phone with the model number H8541. It will feature 5.7-inch screen in 4K, Gorilla Glass 5 for protection and the usual Sony enhancements (X-Reality, TRILUMINOS display technology) on board. No mention of the screen aspect ratio thus far.
Underneath the skin is the Snapdragon 835 processor. This may be mind boggling seeing the Snapdragon 845 will be out next year, but the new phone looks like it will be announced before the official availability of the latest chip from Qualcomm. Plus, Samsung seems to been hoarding all the chips prior to its own Galaxy S9 launch.
Other notable features includes 4GBs of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage, NFC, USB Type-C connector with Qualcomm’s QC 3.0, and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Unfortunately the leak did not list any camera specifications, so we do not know if the phone will inherit the Xperia XZ1 camera or a new sensor will be on board.
