It seems that the rumours of Sony expanding its audio product lineup were indeed true, as the company has officially announced not one, but three new headphones. At the top of this list is the previously reported WH-1000XM4C, which is meant to be a leaner alternative to the WH-1000XM4.
Of course, that is the more premium option. The other two pieces of audio equipment, the WH-CH730N and WH-CH530, are updates to Sony’s mid-range wireless headphone range. The company says that the former comes with noise-cancelling technology, while the latter “delivers reliable wireless audio”.
WH-1000XM4C
With the preamble out of the way, let’s discuss specs. Starting with the WH-1000XM4C, features a 40mm driver unit and a 10-band equaliser for better sound quality. According to the official spec sheet, it also features a 4Hz to 40kHz frequency response. These headphones feature the company’s acclaimed noise-cancelling technology, but Sony did not provide a specific noise-reduction figure in decibels (dB).
Upon closer inspection of the images on Sony’s website, we noticed that there is no NFC signal on the left earcup, something that the original model had. Which suggests that NFC pairing is not available.
The company claims that the headphones can last up to 27 hours on a single charge with ANC enabled. Turning off the feature increases the device’s battery life to up to 34 hours. For charging, it approximately needs three full hours before it could reach maximum capacity.
The WH-1000XM4C is priced at RM1,399 and comes in Black, Platinum Silver, and Lavender colourways. Sony is offering an early-bird promotion, allowing customers to purchase the device for RM1,099 and receive an additional RM50 in TNG credit before 9 November. Those interested can pre-order the device through the company’s official webpage, with deliveries expected to begin in mid-November.
WH-CH730N

Next is the WH-CH730N. According to the press release, its noise cancellation is powered by Dual Noise Sensor technology, which uses two microphones in each earcup. It also comes with Ambient Sound Modes that have 20 levels of adaptive control.
The official press release says that it can last up to 50 hours with the noise cancellation on and that a 3-minute charge is good for an hour of audio playback. It comes with “Precise Voice Pickup Technology”, which supposedly optimises call audio in noisy environments by combing “beamforming microphones, optimised microphones, and AI-powered noise reduction”. Other details include LE Audio, Multipoint connection, and Fast Pair/Swift Pair.

The WH-CH730N is available for purchase now at a base price of RM649. However, to celebrate its launch, customers can purchase the headphones at a discounted price of RM599 for a limited time. It comes in Black, White, Pink, Beige and Blue colourways.
WH-CH530

Last on the list is the WH-CH530, which is the cheapest over-ear among the three. Specs-wise, the headphone comes with a 30mm driver with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20,000Hz. According to the official press release, the headphones come with AI noise reduction, though the company did not elaborate further on how the technology works.
Sony claims that the headphones can last up to 55 hours of continuous audioplayback and that a three-minute charge is enough for 1.5 hours. It has a 5-step volume level that can supposedly protect the user’s hearing. Other details include a built-in voice assistant, Multipoint connection, Fast Pair/Swift Pair and LE Audio compatibility.

The WH-CH530 is available for purchase now for RM239. However, much like the first two models, this headphone comes with an early bird discount which drops the price to RM229 for a limited time. It is available in six different colours: Black, Cobalt, White, Pink, Coral and Mint.
