Samsung may become the first manufacturer to ship wireless earphones with its smartphones. As a rumour from Weibo claims that the upcoming Galaxy S9 will include Bluetooth earphones in the box.
The post claims that the Galaxy S9 will feature a set of wireless ‘tuned by AKG’ earphones. Similar to what was found in the Galaxy S8, albeit without the cable.
While it sounds like the Galaxy S9 will not be including an audio jack, the same Weibo post explains that this is not the case. At least the current prototype retains the option for wired audio, although that may change over the development period.
The quality of the sound coming from the Bluetooth headset may just be average, as users can expect better audio quality from wired headphones. Still, this may change the industry as companies continue to find ways to stand out in the every growing market; Samsung may just be on to something if this rumour is true.
