The man who founded Microsoft has now migrated to an Android phone. Bill Gates’ switch away from Windows Phone says a lot about the state of the platform. However, Gates did not mention which smartphone he is currently using, but he did say that it has “a lot of Microsoft software” on it.
In an interview with Fox News, Gates said that he is still not into the iPhone, even as he praised Steve Jobs. He famously banned Apple mobile products, including iPhones and iPods, in his home, but also said that the products were a “genius” design move by Jobs.
While he did not mention the smartphone model, many suspect the phone is the Samsung Galaxy S8 Microsoft Edition, which was released in limited markets – including the United States. The phone can be purchased straight from the official Microsoft Store (online and offline). Apart from the name however, there are no significant difference when compared to the standard Samsung Galaxy S8.
Gates also said that Steve Jobs helped to spur competition in the market, as companies race to create the best product for the consumers.
