We all know that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have 2GB and 3GB of RAM respectively, with slightly smaller batteries compared to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but what about the iPhone X? According to the iPhone X’s listing on TENAA, the iPhone X has 3GB of RAM and 2,716mAh battery on board.
Putting 3GB of RAM in its smartphone is a pretty standard thing in Apple’s books. The iPhone 7 Plus and latest iPhone 8 Plus also have 3GB of RAM on board. The larger RAM is reportedly used to accommodate the bigger display and dual-camera systems.
As for the battery, the iPhone X may be physically smaller than the iPhone 8 Plus, but it has a larger battery. In TENAA’s listing for both devices, the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus have 2,675mAh and 2,716mAh batteries respectively. For comparison’s sake, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus features a 1,960mAh and 2,900mAh battery respectively.
As for performance, Apple says that the Battery on the iPhone X can last “up to 2 hours longer than iPhone 7”. It estimates up to 21 hours of talk time (wireless), up to 12 hours of internet use (slightly lower than the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus at 13 hours), 13 hours of video playback (1 hour less than the iPhone 8), and up to 60 hours of audio playback.
The advantage the iPhone X and iPhone 8 has over the previous generation iPhones is Qi wireless charging capability, and fast-charging that can give you up to 50% charge in 30 minutes.
