Selfie lovers, rejoice: the Casio Exilim EX-TR80 is now available for pre-order in Malaysia. As the successor to the EX-TR70, the TR80 features a sleeker-looking design as well as improved hardware. Surprisingly enough, it’s also more affordable than its predecessor – well, only slightly.
The appeal of the Exilim EX-TR80 – and the TR series in general – lies in the fact that it’s a…beauty item. As Casio put it, the TR series is “no longer seen as a conventional camera,” and this does show in the feminine design of the TR80. Oh, Casio also mentioned that this camera is designed especially for shooting self-portraits.
The TR series’ focus on selfies is really one of the main reasons why it got so popular, and the EX-TR80 brings with it several new additions in this area. It features a more customisable Make-up Mode, a “significantly enhanced intelligence” to control image quality for skin (which promises consistent skin tones in various conditions), as well as two LED flashes to capture skin tone more evenly.
Other than that, the EX-TR80 also has a 3.5-inch TFT LCD touch display – 30% bigger than its predecessor – an 11.1MP f/2.8 sensor, a microSD card slot, as well as a rotatable frame for more creative selfies.
The Casio Exilim EX-TR80 is now available for pre-order until 15 March 2017 in Malaysia. If you’re keen to get your hands on this selfie-centric camera, you can place your order on Gemfive and Lazada for RM4,099; that’s RM100 less than its predecessor’s asking price.
