U Mobile wants to start the year right by giving its customer a little surprise. The company is rewarding all its Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) subscribers an extra 1GB mobile data for free when they renew their UMI plans.
U Mobile’s UMI plans are catered to those who prioritise mobile data over calls and SMS. UMI Plans start from a low commitment fee of RM20 a month to RM50 a month, depending on which plan suits the customer best.

For those who are interested, do take note that the free 1GB mobile data is only valid for 30 days. For U Mobile prepaid customers who are not on U Mobile’s UMI plan yet, just dial *118*3*1*1# and follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe. These plans are also eligible for free video streaming on YouTube and Tonton, which is only usable from 2am to 10am.
This isn’t the first time the company has done something like this. Back when OOKLA awarded U Mobile the fastest mobile network in Malaysia, the company decided to reward every one of its customer for their support by giving them 1GB of mobile data for free for a month.
