Sony Xperia XZ Coming Soon To Malaysia: Registration of Interest Now Opens

Thanks to a recent listing on SIRIM’s database, we have recently learned that the newly announced Xperia X Compact is likely to be released in Malaysia soon. But how about the new flagship Xperia XZ that was also announced at IFA 2016? Well, it seems like the answer is yes as the new smartphone has now been listed by SIRIM as well.

Interestingly though, the Xperia XZ is not only registered under Sony Malaysia and Vmatrics as per Xperia X Compact but under Thorus Technology as well. This is nothing out of ordinary as Thorus has been distributing Sony Mobile devices since Sony Ericsson’s era although we felt rather intrigued that the same case doesn’t apply (at least for the time being) for Xperia X Compact.

Meanwhile, Sony Mobile Malaysia has actually stated that Xperia XZ as well as Xperia X Compact will be released in our market through replies to fans over at Facebook and Twitter. Not only that, product pages for both devices are already live on Sony Mobile Malaysia’s website although the company did something extra for Xperia XZ though by opening a specific registration of interest page for it.

All in all, seem like it is only a matter of time before we see these two new Xperia smartphone made available in our market. For now, do check out our hands-on experience with Xperia XZ to see what it has to offer for users.
