MSI have unveiled custom variants of the Radeon RX 470 graphics card alongside the recent official launch. These four variants of the RX 470 are the MSI Radeon RX 470 Gaming X 8G, RX 470 Gaming 8G, RX 470 Gaming X 4G, and RX 470 Gaming 4G.
All four graphics cards are aesthetically the same; the only difference being their respective core clock speeds (OC Mode) and VRAM capacity. Both the MSI Radeon RX 470 Gaming X 8G and RX 470 Gaming 8G comes with 8GB of VRAM along with core clock speeds of 125MHz and 1230MHz respectively.
Meanwhile, the RX 470 Gaming X 4G and RX 470 Gaming 4G graphics cards are equipped with 4GB of VRAM and OC Mode clock speeds of 1254MHz and 1230MHz respectively. In addition, all four aforementioned graphics cards will be ship with MSI’s Twin Frozr VI cooling solution; which is said to have 22% better cooling performance and reduced noise levels compared to the reference model.
MSI has also introduced two brand new graphics cards under its “Armor” lineup: RX 480 Armor and RX 470 Armor, both of which will come with the Armor 2X cooling solution that apparently uses a patented TORX Fan technology to ensure efficient cooling.
Unfortunately, retail prices of the MSI Gaming and Armor series graphics cards were not given. However, the company did mention that it expects the RX 470 Gaming models to be made available worldwide by the end of August. As for the MSI Armor graphics cards, expect them to arrive in September 2016.
