Wish to post all the photos of your recent holiday on Instagram but do not want to spam all of your followers? Instagram has a new feature for you. The social network recently introduced a new “Stories” feature that lets you share all your favourite moments in a single post.
Similar to Stories on Snapchat that has been around for years, Stories on Instagram will let you share multiple photos and videos in a slideshow format. You can share as much as you want and be creative as you want using the text and drawing tools. The post will disappear after 24 hours so it won’t appear on your profile grid or feed. This new feature is to ensure that users do not “overpost”, so you can share all the cat pictures you want without overwhelming your followers.
Instagram will show stories from people you follow in the bar on top of your feed. New stories are indicated by a colourful ring around the profile photo, and tapping on it will load the person’s story. Because stories will disappear after 24 hours, you can’t like or comment on the story – you will have to send a private message to the person on Instagram Direct instead.
Story on Instagram will be rolling out globally over the next few weeks on iOS and Android.
