Xiaomi Confirms Redmi Pro Will Be Unveiled on 27 July, Not Redmi Note 4

Before Xiaomi’s recent announcement, many believe that the company will be unveiling the Redmi Note 4 at its launch event on 27 July. Now, however, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Pro will be introduced on that day instead. On top of that, the device will also be unveiled alongside a “mysterious small partner.”

Based on its name alone, the Redmi Pro could very well mark a new direction for Xiaomi’s Redmi series of smartphones. If early benchmarks of the device are to be believed, the Redmi Pro will come in two variants: one will be powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 processor with 3GB of RAM, while a higher-end variant will be packing a Helio X25 chipset with 4GB of RAM.

Xiaomi’s recent announcement concerning its 27 July launch event is a very, very interesting one. For one, the device pictured above with a dual-camera setup was believed to be the Redmi Note 4, but as an earlier leak suggests, the device does not have a dual-camera system. Chances are, the leaked device above – and below – is in fact the Redmi Pro.

While Xiaomi’s confirmation is interesting, the fact that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro will be launched alongside a “mysterious small partner” is arguably even more noteworthy. After all, it may just be Xiaomi’s first-ever laptop.
