xtreme gaming

Just a few months ago, Gigabyte announced its new graphics card series, Xtreme Gaming. The GTX 950 Xtreme Gaming was the first graphics card in Gigabyte’s new gaming hardware lineup. Now, Gigabyte is adding five more high-end Nvidia GPUs into its Xtreme Gaming series.

The five new cards to be debuted in Gigabyte’s Xtreme Gaming are the GTX Titan X, GTX 970, GTX 980, GTX 980 Ti Windforce Edition and GTX 980 Ti Waterforce Edition. Gigabyte’s Xtreme gaming series was first launched on September of this year and features improved overclocking performance and an increase in durability.

Gigabyte’s five new Xtreme Gaming graphics cards will also feature improved overclocking capabilities and in addition, the GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming edition is further improved by adding LN2 BIOS and an extra 6-pin PCI-E Power connector to give overclocking enthusiasts more freedom to tweak the GPUs performance all with a simple press of a button.

Besides this, Gigabyte also said that each air-cooled graphics card in its Xtreme Gaming series will feature the Windoforce 3X triple-fan system along with composite heat-pipes, special fin architecture, a unique blade fan design and Gigabyte’s “Triangle Cool” technology which will reduce the heat output even under very heavy load. Furthermore, the GTX Titan X Xtreme Gaming and GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming Windforce editions will feature an alternate spinning fan design, the middle fan spins in an opposite direction to further optimise air flow to reduce heat output.

Each Xtreme Gaming graphics card will also be equipped with a metal backplate which is applied with a breathable coating to guard against moisture, dust and corrosion. This feature will come very handy for gaming enthusiast that live in high humidity areas with high temperatures, like Malaysia. In addition to the protective metal backplate, each Xtreme Gaming card will also be backlit with Gigabyte’s brand new RGB LED illumination which will give them a more premium look. The RGB LED will light up the cooling fans along with the Windforce symbol which are also customisable with different colour options and lighting effects using the included OC GURU, Gigabytes utility software for its graphic cards.

Obviously Gigabyte’s new additions to the Xtreme Gaming series won’t be very wallet-friendly. The GTX 980 Xtreme Gaming is priced at $529.99 (about RM2320), the GTX 970 Xtreme Gaming costs $379.99 (about RM1663), the GTX 980 Ti Windforce Edition costs $699.99 (about RM3064) and lastly the most expensive being the GTX 980 Ti Waterforce Edition which costs $719.99 (about RM3151). However, Gigabyte did not provide a price for the GTX Titan X Xtreme Gaming.
