Aftershock PC Singapore Intel 6th Gen Announcement 12

After a number of delays, Intel’s family of 6th generation Core processors – previously codenamed as Skylake – have finally made their way into the limelight. Starting with i5-6600K and i7-6700K last month, today the company have finally unveiled the other 44 processors in the family that are designed for various type of systems including high performance notebook and desktop PC.

Not surprisingly, OEMs throughout the world have begun to pick up these processors for their products including Aftershock PC Singapore which is said to one of the first company in Asia to announce products based on 6th generation Intel Core processors. Despite being fairly new to the industry, it is rather interesting to see how the company is able to work with Intel to bring out products featuring the new processors rather swiftly.

Mainly known for its customizable high performance notebooks with chassis provided by Clevo, there are no new models at the moment though. Instead, what Aftershock PC Singapore did is that it has refreshed the entire line-up of laptops and desktop system with 6th generation Core processors starting from today onwards.

According to Marcus Wee, the Managing Director and Co-Founder of Aftershock PC Singapore, the new 6th generation Intel Core processors provides up to 14% increase of performance for their products. Since Skylake uses dual-channel DDR4 memories, this might contribute to the performance increase as well.

Additionally, the company also discovered that its Skylake-based laptops generally have lower operational temperature with differences between 10 to 14C as compared to laptops with previous generation Core processors. Marcus also pointed other new features that Aftershock PC Singapore will include into its products such as USB 3.1 for select models, and user-specified battery charge points.

In terms of pricing, the Aftershock PC Singapore desktops and laptops with Intel 6th generation Core processors starts at around SGD 1,400 (RM 4,145) depending on users specifications. Available for order starting from this week onwards, Malaysian consumers are more than welcome to order these new machines through its official online store once it is updated with new Skylake processors as Aftershock PC Singapore does deliver its products to Malaysia.
