For those of you who wish to get an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, did you know that you can easily save a couple hundreds of Ringgit from Maxis’ trade in program? Sure, the trade in value they offer for the listed phones may not be as competitive as what you can get from the market, but with a minimum rebate of RM200, here’s how you can make the most out of the deal.
1) Dig out your old, old useless phone at home.

If you have any feature phone lying around at home, now’s the chance to trade it in and get RM200 for a device that would normally fetch you RM50 or less. Are your parents still using an old Nokia phone with monochrome screen and no camera? It’s time to give them an upgrade they deserve this parent’s day.
2) BUY a cheap second hand phone.

Don’t have a cheap phone at home? No worries, a simple visit to the Garage Sales section in our forums will find you plenty of cheap phones. Here’s a Nokia 105 for only RM30, which means you will earn RM170 from Maxis iPhone 6 trade in program. Just in case, here’s another RM30 old phone. Do ensure that the phone can be powered on and has access to the IMEI number though.
3) Cracked screen? No problem.
I’m sure this has happened to a handful of us before – a broken or abused phone. You don’t need to fork out extra cash to repair the device, Maxis also accepts these phones and categorise them under “any working phone”. This means that yes, the telco is willing to pay RM200 for it. Again, do ensure that it can still be powered on with access to IMEI number.

4) Port into Maxis.
Port into Maxis and receive an additional rebate of RM100. If you are not already a Maxis subscriber, port into the telco and sign up for its iPhone 6 trade in program, and the telco will reward you with RM100 in rebate. It will be credited to your bill over two months (RM50 x 2).
