Watch how the Mi 4i is assembled
The Xiaomi Mi 4i has finally been announced. Everything about the smartphone looks very promising – it offers upper mid-range hardware at a very affordable price, and has a large battery on board. But is the device tough enough to survive even the most careless users? Xiaomi released a collection of videos to show off just how tough the Mi 4i is.
In the first video, Xiaomi shows off how the Mi 4i goes through a series of tough tests during the manufacturing process. The company tests the durability of the buttons and ports on the smartphone, drop the device from various heights, let it tumble around in a plastic box, and while it’s not certified to be water-resistant, you can be sure that it can survive a few splashes here and there. Other toughness tests shown include dropping the device on its face, thermal test, vibration test, and such.
What about the back of the phone? Xiaomi says that it has an anti-grease coating so if you’re paranoid about fingerprints on your phone, you’ll be glad to know that not only will it not attract fingerprints like a magnet, it also allow users to remove prints using only an eraser.
Finally, last but not least, Xiaomi also puts the Mi 4i in a “Sunlight Display Test”, to show how the sensor can automatically adjust the brightness of the display. This means that when you walk out to the glaring sun, the brightness will automatically be adjusted to ensure that you can still see whatever that’s on the screen.
Are you excited to see the Xiaomi Mi 4i for yourself? The device is scheduled to be launched in Malaysia just next month, so stay tuned.
